East Islip’s Special Olympics team delivered stellar performances at this year’s Special Olympics Long Island Region Spring Games.

The East Islip School District honored student achievements and celebrated a time capsule reopening at the district’s April 22 Board of Education meeting.

Secondary students were honored at two Breakfast of Champions celebrations, held at East Islip Middle School on March 20 and East Islip High School High School on March 28.

The East Islip School Business Partnership recently hosted its annual STEAM events in the East Islip High School gymnasium to prepare students for future careers utilizing skills in science, technology, engineering, art and math.

East Islip Middle School recently administered the AMC 8 for the first time, with Jacob Ruzicka winning first place, Zion Lee taking second, and Sully Griffin and Anna Humann tied for third.

The young actors of East Islip Middle School rose to the challenge of presenting a successful school musical, wowing audiences with their production of “The Little Mermaid” at two shows on Feb. 7 and 8.
